At the end of the Second World War, Freddie and Frankie purchased a home nearby St. Mary’s Ascot, where Ann and her sisters would attend school.

Patricia relates that the girls walked to school from the back of the property at Milcote. Because of the difference in their ages, Jill would leave Ascot before Patricia arrived but Ann was attentive and responsible for her younger sister while she was there.

The relationship between Ann and Patricia was close and would bear fruit after Ann returned from the United States in 1965.
